Second-Story & Northern Dining Rooms

The space is quiet and comfortably tucked away from the festivity of the main dining room, which suits some groups looking for privacy, ambiance, and more personalized service.

Part of the original 1906 house, the upper level was initially single-family residential bedrooms.. We’ve lovingly preserved the spirit of the home while converting the second story into a living room/parlor area with a comfortable couch and upholstered chairs around a large central coffee table. The space is quiet and comfortably tucked away from the festivity of the main dining room, which suits some groups looking for privacy, ambiance, and more personalized service.

Two newly-renovated private dining rooms flank the parlor: our Sage Room seats up to 8, and the Sun Room can accommodate parties of up to 20 (with optional 48″ screen available for presentations). In all, the capacity for sit-down dinners is 28 people if utilizing both dining rooms. We provide table service upstairs just as on the main floor, and the space also has its own private restroom.

We also offer a semi-private room on our main level: Marks retained the original home’s formal dining room as a set-aside space that can hold up to 20 people, or as a more quiet space for walk-in patrons. The room’s original built-in china cabinet stocked with bottles of wine provides a primary visual feature, and the maple wainscot paneling warms the mood of the room.

These private and semi-private spaces are perfect for baby showers, small rehearsal dinners, book clubs, birthdays, holiday gatherings, cocktails and surprise parties. These rooms have become the favorite for many Marks regulars, as the atmosphere is almost like dining at home—charming, intimate, and yet fully indulged with good service and Marks’ fine food.

Nestled cozily in the shade of the trees and away from the bustle of the street, our patio is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine on a warm afternoon or an outdoor meal with friends on a crisp summer evening.

Marks is known for many things, but perhaps most of all for our beautiful patio: we’ve been regularly voted to the Best of Omaha list for best outdoor dining, most recently voted #1 overall in 2016!

Nestled cozily in the shade of the trees and away from the bustle of the street, our patio is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine on a warm afternoon or an outdoor meal with friends on a crisp summer evening.

We open our patio as soon as the weather is reliably warm enough, and we offer our guests blankets for when the evening air turns a bit chilly. The patio generally remains open as long into the fall as weather permits.

The patio is a favorite feature among many of Marks’ guests, who enjoy its ambient lighting, relaxed, intimate atmosphere and wide array of flowers and greenery year after year.

But the patio isn’t just enjoyed by people; we welcome and encourage guests to enjoy the outdoors with their dogs as well! We only ask that dogs remain supervised closely enough to avoid becoming a distraction for our other guests.

Patio seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Unfortunately, due to the logistics of reserving space for all of our guests and the unpredictability of the weather, we cannot accept reservations for the patio.
